Group Project- Bone Cancer
For a majority of our exhibition projects I was in a group with four other students who also had family history of cancer. The four us studied together and made projects together. We called ourselves Cancer Group Two.
In our art class we made paintings together on wood that described a little bit of what we learned. Since all of us had been studying different types of cancers (such as colon, skin, throat, and breast) we weren't sure how to incorporate all of them into one. Our first idea was to incorporate all of the different causes and preventative measures, but our rough draft ended up not making much sense and looked unkempt. So we decided to brainstorm again and made a poster explaining bone cancer. We painted the skull to represent the bone cancer. We added the radiation symbol because radiation poisoning can cause bone cancer. The silhouette of the child represents that bone cancer occurs more in children.
